DirectorOS Terms of Service
Effective date: June 13, 2026
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of DirectorOS. They are intended as a practical draft for product readiness and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before commercial use or publication as final terms.
1. Agreement
By accessing or using DirectorOS, the customer organization and its authorized users agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use DirectorOS.
The customer organization is responsible for ensuring that each user is authorized to access DirectorOS and understands the obligations that apply to funeral home, care center, transport, crematory, administrative, and related death care workflows.

Each user must have an authorized account. Users must not share passwords, passkeys, authentication prompts, or session access. Customer organizations are responsible for assigning appropriate roles, disabling access when no longer needed, and reviewing admin permissions.
DirectorOS may suspend or restrict access to protect the service, investigate misuse, comply with law, or prevent security risk.
4. Customer Data
Customer organizations retain responsibility for the data they enter into DirectorOS, including case records, family information, decedent information, documents, images, custody events, personal effects, communications, service details, and operational notes.
DirectorOS may process customer data to provide, secure, support, improve, and maintain the service. DirectorOS does not sell customer case data.
Customers are responsible for obtaining any required permissions, notices, authorizations, or consents related to the information they enter into DirectorOS.
5. Acceptable Use
Users must not:
- Use DirectorOS for unlawful, unauthorized, deceptive, or harmful purposes.
- Access case records or workspaces without authorization.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, role controls, tenant isolation, audit logging, or security safeguards.
- Upload malware, exploit code, or intentionally harmful content.
- Use DirectorOS to harass, threaten, or unlawfully disclose private information.
- Misrepresent AI-generated drafts, reports, or recommendations as reviewed professional determinations when they have not been reviewed.
- Interfere with platform availability, integrity, or security.
6. Professional Responsibility
DirectorOS supports operational workflows but does not replace professional judgment. Users are responsible for reviewing all outputs before relying on them, including:
- Case details.
- Family communications.
- Legal or authorization forms.
- Service plans.
- Custody transfers.
- Initial condition analysis reports.
- Prep service reports.
- AI-generated suggestions.
- Compliance evidence.
DirectorOS does not provide legal, medical, regulatory, tax, accounting, funeral directing, embalming, crematory, or clinical advice.
7. AI Features
Atticus and other AI-supported features may summarize information, identify missing fields, draft communications, parse documents, recommend next actions, or assist with workflows.
AI outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for a specific context. Users must review and approve outputs before updating records, sending communications, generating forms, making custody decisions, or taking operational action.
8. Integrations and Third-Party Services
DirectorOS may connect with third-party services such as hosting providers, AI providers, email/calendar providers, Passare, Trello, Coupa, or other configured systems.
Customer organizations are responsible for maintaining their own third-party accounts, permissions, contracts, API credentials, and compliance obligations. DirectorOS is not responsible for third-party services it does not control.
9. Security
DirectorOS includes security features such as role-based workspaces, passkey/MFA support, secure session controls, encrypted file handling, audit logging, access reviews, and security posture checks.
Customer organizations and users must maintain secure credentials, limit access to authorized personnel, promptly remove former users, protect devices, and report suspected security incidents.
10. Availability and Backups
DirectorOS is designed to support critical operations, but no service is guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free. Customers should maintain appropriate business continuity procedures, exports, backups, paper fallback procedures, and recovery plans for essential funeral home operations.
11. Fees and Commercial Terms
Fees, subscriptions, billing, implementation, support, service levels, and cancellation terms may be governed by a separate order form, subscription agreement, pilot agreement, statement of work, or written customer agreement.
If a separate signed agreement conflicts with these Terms, the signed agreement controls for that customer.
12. Confidentiality
DirectorOS and customer organizations may exchange confidential business, technical, operational, security, and case-related information. Each party should protect confidential information using reasonable safeguards and use it only for authorized purposes.
13. Intellectual Property
DirectorOS and its software, designs, workflows, interfaces, documentation, brands, and related technology are owned by DirectorOS or its licensors.
Customer data remains the responsibility of the customer organization. These Terms do not transfer ownership of customer case records to DirectorOS.
14. Disclaimers
DirectorOS is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis except where a signed agreement says otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DirectorOS disclaims implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted operation.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DirectorOS will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or reputational harm.
Any liability cap or exception should be finalized in a signed commercial agreement reviewed by counsel.
16. Termination
DirectorOS or the customer organization may suspend or terminate access as permitted by the applicable commercial agreement, security policy, or law. After termination, data export, retention, deletion, and audit preservation should be handled according to the applicable agreement and data retention policy.
17. Changes
DirectorOS may update these Terms as the product, security posture, or legal requirements change. Material updates should be versioned and communicated through appropriate customer or administrator channels.
